Flower of the Week: Papaya Huasca
Gone are the days of the Autumn season of 2020, and now here we are in the last month of the year with the weather forecast informing us of rainy days ahead, and soon the winds will shift and bring along the snow that many are waiting for. What better way to enjoy the cold weather than with the flower of the week, Papaya Huasca.
As the love child of Ice #2 and Citral #13 the Papaya Huasca strain certainly became its own entity, by taking on a fruity flavor mimicking its namesake. While the aroma certainly smells like a papaya there is an undertone of pepper, giving the strain one of the most unique flavors to have graced our shelves. As the aroma lures you in the sight of the frost that graces the thick and luscious leaves, making it appetizing to not only the nose but also to the eyes.
In a poll that 174 people participated in nearly 68% stated that they were extremely relaxed, while at the same time another 55% stated that they were elated, showing that this strain is perfect for the current weather we are experiencing. In that same poll 31% stated that their pain levels reduced tremendously, at the same time another 19% stated that they saw a change in their depression.
One of the things we strive for here at the Speakeasy is the way we approach with educating others, and that means showing the positive and negative of any strain that we bring in. With that being said, while there are so many positive things about the Papaya Huasca strain, there are a few negative side effects that the participants noticed. 22% of the participants stated that they experienced dry mouth, and in order to combat this while enjoying the strain the best thing to do is keep some water on hand to stay hydrated and to keep your mouth from getting dry, try to limit anything with caffeine (such as soda) because it can cause the dry mouth to get a little worse. 10% of the participants stated that they experienced dry eyes, and while this is an uncommon symptom it is nothing to worry about unless it becomes irritated. If you do experience dry eyes make sure that you are staying hydrated.
